Power engineers of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region continue to work in a strengthened mode

19 December 2017

Due to the unfavourable weather forecast, 15 branches of electric grid companies - "Kostromaenergo", "Tambovenergo", "Kurskenergo", "Bryanskenergo", "Lipetskenergo", "Orelenergo", "Smolenskenergo", "Yarenergo", "Belgorodenergo" (all IDGC of Centre) and "Ryazanenergo", "Ivenergo", "Kirovenergo", "Vladimirenergo", "Kalugaenergo" and "Tulenergo" (all IDGC of Centre and Volga Region) - continue to operate with the high availability mode.

A special control over the operation of power facilities has been established. An information exchange has been organized with territorial subdivisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and executive authorities. Operational and repair personnel have been mobilized. All crews are equipped with necessary tools, adaptations, overalls, provided with off-road specialized vehicles, prepared for round-the-clock operation in any conditions.

All pinpoint faults of the grid, caused by wind, wet snow and rain, which occurred during the past day, were eliminated immediately. Now there are no serious technological violations in the grids.

Emergency recovery work continues in the Tver region, where the day before yesterday because of the cyclone, accompanied by a sudden transition of air temperature from positive to negative values and the formation of strong ice on wires, technological failures were recorded. The power engineers quickly took control of the situation. A special mode of operation was immediately introduced in the branch "Tverenergo", involving complete mobilization of forces and means. At the peak of the restoration work, 81 crews participated in it, including the crews of Yarenergo, Kostromaenergo, Smolenskenergo, Bryanskenergo, Kurskenergo that were promptly transferred by the decision of the management of IDGC of the Centre. At the moment, the power engineers are eliminating local outages in selected settlements in the region, including under individual requests of consumers.

Similarly, over the night unfavourable weather conditions caused local technological disturbances in a number of settlements of Suvorovsky, Teplo-Ogarevsky, Kireevsky, Leninsky and Schekinsky districts of the Tula region. Tulaenergo’s operating personnel was immediately sent to places of the grid faults. 18 crews (51 people, 20 vehicles) were occupied in the work carried out. First of all, the restoration of power supply for socially significant facilities was organized. For these purposes, 6 standby power supply sources with a capacity of 100 kW were used. Currently, the restoration work in the power grid complex of the Tula region has been completed.

The high availability mode in IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region will operate until the weather situation is completely stabilized. If necessary, 2,817 crews consisting of more than 14,000 people, 5,148 automobile and specialized vehicles, as well as resources of contractors may be involved in the liquidation of technological violations in all branches of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region.

Also at their disposal there are about 1,500 stand-by sources of electricity with a total installed capacity of about 49 MW, which can be used for temporary supply of power, primarily to socially important facilities in the regions.
