IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region put into commercial operation an automated system for recording mass outages

6 December 2017

Specialists of IDGC of Centre developed and put into operation an automated system for recording mass outages (the System). The main objectives of creating this system are to obtain a tool for operational control and situational management in various modes of operation of the power grid complex, as well as to provide the crisis management centre of IDGC of Centre and crisis management centres of branches with operational information on the course of emergency recovery work for making managerial decisions.

The System has an implemented shared information display interface, which is an information map of technological violations in the power grid complex of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, with actual data on disconnected equipment. All information is visualized in the existing boundaries of the regions and includes: the number of de-energized population, de-energized transformer substations, emergency power lines, the number of working crews. In addition, the map in real time displays the actual weather conditions: ambient temperature, wind force, precipitation, storm warnings about unfavourable weather events.

The information map of technological violations in the power grid complex of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region has two modes: one of which displays data for all outages, and in the other, a break with a duration in the power supply to consumers. At the same time, detailed information can be displayed for each outage, which includes the date and time of occurrence of a technological violation, the dispatching name of the equipment that has been disconnected, consequences of the outage, causes for it and the work done to eliminate the fault.

This automated system for recording mass outages was developed by experts of IDGC of Centre.
