An important area of activity of IDGC of Centre is grid connection of social facilities. For 10 months of 2017 specialists of the Smolensk branch of the company provided power supply to more than fifty such facilities in the Smolensk region. The total capacity of the socially significant facilities of this region, connected for the past period, amounted to almost 1.3 MW.
A notable event for the region’s residents was the grid connection of a children’s art centre in Novoduginsky district, a pavilion for cultural events in Vyazemsky district and the Cultural Development Centre in Dukhovschinsky district, which became the largest among the social facilities connected in 2017 (130 kW). Among the connected facilities there are also more than three dozen trade ones in 14 districts of the region and five in the city of Smolensk, as well as a shopping and entertainment centre in Dorogobuzhsky district, pumping stations, artesian wells. This list does not include housing and large shopping centres.
"Grid connection of socially significant facilities for us is an unconditional priority. Despite the rapid growth in the number of applications for grid connection, specialists of the branch always pay special attention to socially important facilities, try to shorten the terms of work performance," commented Sergey Lapin, the head of the grid connection department of Smolenskenergo.
