IDGC of Centre showed journalists power facilities that ensure the reliability of the power grid complex in the Kursk region

On 15 September, a press-tour "Partnership aimed at energy security of Russia" was organized by IDGC of Centre, System Operator of the Unified Energy System and Kursk NPP for regional mass media at power facilities of the Kursk region.

During the event specialists of IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division showed participants of the press tour large facilities of the power system, and also told about implemented measures aimed at improving the reliability of the power grid complex of the branch on the eve of the autumn-winter period.

The journalists visited the Grid Control Centre of Kurskenergo - a structure that provides constant and clear control over operating modes of electrical equipment. Alexander Rudnevsky, Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division director introduced them to the work of operators and modern technologies that allow monitoring the state of each line and substation, on-line monitoring of electricity and capacity.

Then the media representatives visited the 110 kV substation "Kotelnaya" - the most important feeding centre, which after reconstruction provides delivery of 115 megawatts of power of the combined-cycle boiler-house of the North-Western micro-district of the city of Kursk.

In accordance with the reconstruction project at the substation, a modern integrated 110 kV switchgear (GIS) of closed type with 12 SF6 bays, sets of basic high-speed protection and automatic devices on modern microprocessor terminals was constructed. The service life of the switchgear and control gear with SF6 insulation is up to 50 years.

"The use of this kind of equipment and circuits makes it possible to deliver the power of generators of the combined-cycle plant with a high level of reliability, increases the reliability of the 110 kV electric grid participating in the power delivery scheme and reduces repair and maintenance costs of the company," stressed First Deputy Director - Chief Engineer of Kurskenergo Vyacheslav Istomin.

In the Kursk House of Journalist a briefing was held as part of the press tour, in which, in addition to the organizers of the event, Deputy Governor of the Kursk region Alexander Demin took part. He noted the important role of Kurskenergo and other energy companies in meeting the electricity needs of local industry, the social sector, attracting new investors.

The head of the Kurskenergo branch told the audience about the major investment projects implemented in recent years, among them - the construction of the 110/10 kV substations "Vozrozhdenie", "Rodniki"; the reconstruction of the 110/10 kV substations "Teplichnaya", "Beketovo", "Bykovo", the reconstruction of 451 km of power lines and construction of 385 km of new grids, grid connection of large industrial, agricultural and social facilities in the region, shared with the participants of the briefing the results of preparation of Kurskenergo for the autumn-winter period of 2017-1018

In particular, he noted that the comprehensive plan to increase the sustainability of power supply facilities in the Kursk region for the current year is 100% complete, the emergency stock of the branch is also at 100%, special vehicles and crew cars are available for work in low-temperature conditions, autonomous power supply sources have been tested, staff has been trained.

Alexander Rudnevsky also told about Kurskenergo’s plans for the future. Thus, in the coming years, the energy company plans to put into operation about 600 new 0.4-110 kV transformers with a total installed capacity of 135 megawatts. Only this year more than 200 million rubles will be allocated for these purposes.

At the end of the briefing, the heads of the enterprises - organizers of the press tour answered in detail questions of the representatives of the mass media.

The press tour was completed by the acquaintance of the journalists with the work of the operators’ control panel of the branch of JSC "SO UES" Kursk Regional Dispatch Office and facilities of the Kursk NPP under construction.
