The team of IDGC of Centre – Bryanskenergo division won the first place in the Open Cup of the Bryansk amateur volleyball league in the city of Bryansk. 14 teams from three regions of the Central Black-Soil Region – the Bryansk, Kursk and Orel regions participated in the competitions.
The tournament was held in two stages: the game in groups, on the basis of which the top two teams went to the ¼ finals, where there were playoffs. Bryanskenergo’s team completed the group stage in the first place, but the quarter-final match turned out to be difficult for it: its rival, "Phoenix" from Bryansk, resisted fiercely. It was possible to surpass it thanks to a strong game in attack and better teamwork, as a result - 2:0 in favour of the power engineers.
Bryanskenergo’s volleyball players were also lucky in the semi-finals, where they also whitewashed rivals from "Okhotno", representing the eponymous industrial holding of the Bryansk region. In the final match of the tournament the power engineers played against the team of the Bryansk company "TrioStroy". The emotional intensity of the final game was the highest, especially considering that for the opponents it was the third match in five hours, and they played at the limit of their capabilities. As a result, in a battle of will and character Bryanskenergo’s representatives were stronger, winning with little domination – 2:1.
The Cup of the Bryansk amateur volleyball league has been held under support of the Volleyball Federation of the Bryansk region for the fifth time. The players of the Bryansk branch of IDGC of Centre have become the winners for the second time in a row.
