An employee of the Bryansk branch of IDGC of Centre was the author of the rationalization development in the field of power quality monitoring

27 February 2017

The head of the eastern section of metrology and quality of electric power of IDGC of Centre – Bryanskenergo division Mikhail Shelop was given a certificate for a rationalization proposal for the project "System of continuous monitoring of electric energy quality indicators on the example of substations of the Bryansk region".

Mikhail Shelop proposed to introduce into the existing automated commercial metering system (AMR) a system of continuous monitoring of power quality, which is currently not performed in the distribution networks. Empirically the Bryansk power engineer chose optimal devices for evaluating power quality - three-phase meters, measuring instruments, analyzers. Their use allows to convert AMR into an automated system of monitoring of quality of electric energy, which monitors power quality indicators, its metering, as well as additional parameters in real time. This approach makes it possible in the event of an emergency situation to trace the chain of changes in electricity voltage from the power grid company to the consumer, to identify at what stage and on whose fault there was a deviation from the GOST quality of electric power and as quickly as possible to eliminate the malfunction happened. All of this ultimately will help ensure high-quality and reliable power supply to consumers.

The development of Mikhail Shelop has been included in the register of rationalization proposals of IDGC of Centre. The automated system of monitoring of quality of electric energy has already been tested in one of the 110/35/10 kV substations of city of Bryansk. Positive test results of the new system give reason to continue to use it in a pilot project in the reconstruction of one of the substations.
