Specialists of IDGC of Centre – Tambovenergo division completed the construction of power grid infrastructure to supply power to a centre for processing meat, erected in the village of Streltsy in Tambov district of the Tambov region by a subsidiary of "Auchan" "File Property" LLC. As part of the agreement of connection of this facility to the grid, power engineers laid two 6 kV cable lines with a total length of 28.8 km and installed two line bays in Switchgear-6 kV at the 110/6 kV substation "October".
The centre under construction is among the largest and most important investment projects in the field of agriculture and food industry, implemented in the Tambov region. In addition to promoting the state policy of import substitution, increasing food stability and supporting farmers of the region, its implementation will create more than 400 jobs in the region. Capacity of the new enterprise will be about 70 thousand tons of meat per year. It will receive products from farms in the region, which after processing will be sold in "Auchan" stores across the country. Commissioning of the processing centre is scheduled for 2017.
This is not the only major project in the field of the agricultural industry in the Tambov region, where IDGC of Centre is involved in the implementation. In 2015 the company entered into a concession agreement with the regional administration, providing for establishment of power grid infrastructure to the largest in the Central Federal District new businesses in growing and processing of poultry meat. This is the first project of public-private partnership in the Russian electric grid. In September 2015, implementing this agreement, the Tambov branch of IDGC of Centre provided power to the first stage of the unit for growing and processing turkey of "Tambov Turkey" LLC, built by the largest agro-industrial company in Russia PJSC "Cherkizovo "Group" and one of the leading manufacturers of turkey in Europe, the company GrupoFuertes (Spain). And in the spring of 2016 under the same project the power company commissioned the high-tech 110/10 kV substation "Factory", constructed for power supply to a vertically integrated poultry unit on the site of OJSC "Tokarevskaya Poultry Plant" (part of the Group of agricultural enterprises "Resource"). The unit will include a hatchery, a feed mill, two elevators and seven sites for breeding of broilers and a poultry processing plant and warehouses for storage of chilled and frozen products. The incubator with its production capacity of 105 million eggs a year, which became the largest in the country, was opened in September of this year. The opening of the poultry farm is planned before the end of the year. The enterprise capacity with its full cycle of production will amount to 150 thousand tons of poultry meat a year, it will create more than 2,000 jobs.
