Tver branch of IDGC of Centre continues to struggle with bad weather

14 November 2016

On 14 November in the service area of IDGC of Centre – Tverenergo division difficult weather situation remains.

Tverenergo’s staff has been mobilized, the number of first responding and restoration crews in the region has been increased to 57, having 68 specialized vehicles and 6 all-terrain ones. Additional 8 all-terrain vehicles are in the branch reserve. For rapid response to incoming information about local outages 12 additional crews from other parts of the company have been sent to the branch. 5 independent standby power sources are being used.

In the core grid of 35-110 kV there have been no power outages. All overhead power lines, de-energized because of freezing rain and gale-force wind, have been powered with normal circuit of power supply.

Some consumers remain energized with temporary circuits and to transfer them to the normal operation mode Tverenergo’s power engineers are currently making planned switchings, causing controlled interruptions in electricity supply.

Currently, the region still has below zero temperatures and icing on power line wires. In this connection, the energy company warns of possible local power failures on the distribution network.

The Grid Control Centre of the branch is continuously monitoring the situation in the region.
