IDGC of Centre’s specialists took part in regional exercises for emergency response in the Kostroma region

IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division in preparation for the autumn-winter operation period took part in a joint exercise of management bodies of forces and means of the territorial subsystem of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations. The event was held for the purpose of working out actions of operating personnel in an emergency situation within a limited timeframe, it was also attended by representatives of operating staff of a branch of JSC "SO UES" Kursk Transmission Control Centre and General Directorate of EMERCOM of Russia in the Kursk region.

Under the conditions to occur, on the territory of the Kursk region there was a powerful cyclone, accompanied by strong gusty winds, sleet, and a decrease in temperature, resulting in a buildup of wet snow on wires and breakage of power lines. The bad weather de-energized a number of settlements of Zheleznogorsky district.

Actions of operating staff to address technological violations at public utility and social-significant facilities in the "affected" areas and interaction of management bodies and services on prevention and liquidation of emergency situations were worked out in stages.

At the first two stages notification and gathering of managers and first responding and restorations crews, and actions of the dispatch service for the organization of emergency response were checked.

The notification of the crisis management centre of "Kurskenergo" was made by an operator on duty of the operational and technological service of the Grid Control Centre (GCC). The crisis management centre developed an action plan for restoration of the power outage and operators of the Grid Control Centre performed circuit and mode management activities, coordinated the work of first responding mobile crews and personnel of substations, exchanged information with EMERCOM of Russia in the Kursk region.

At the third stage of the exercises the availability of crews, equipment and vehicles for first responding operations was checked. Kurskenergo in municipalities was represented by first responding mobile crews of Distribution Zones, crews of operation of distribution networks and crews of the substation service.

According to the head of the exercises, Kurskenergo’s staff acted professionally, timely and deserved the rating "good".
