The first day of the Sports Games of IDGC of Centre is over

At the VII Summer Games of IDGC of Centre PJSC, held from 1 to 3 June in Belgorod, the preliminary results of the first day were summed up.

In the sports and field events men and women of two age groups (under 35 and over 35 years) competed. Today they ran the hundred metres race. The first two places in the group under 35 years old were won by the host team - Belgorodenergo. In the senior women category the leader was the team of Orelenergo, among men - the team of the executive office of IDGC of Centre. In the 4x200 m relay race the winners were Bryanskenergo’s athletes. Second place was taken by Belgorod and third - by Orel.

Swimmers of Belgorodenergo over 35 years old won at distances of 50 and 100 m. In the category of up to 35 years old in the men’s hundred-metre swim hosts of the competition left no chance to rivals either. The second place went to an athlete from Yaroslavl, the third - to the executive office. And at the distance of 50 m (up to 35 years old) among women the winner was Voronezhenergo’s team.

In the individual championship in table tennis among men and women the leaders were also Belgorodians: Alina Alikhanian and Maxim Plyasov. The second and third places, respectively, were taken in men Dmitriy Gruzdev (Kostromaenergo), Boris Bondarenko (Smolenskenergo), women - Irina Borisova (Tverenergo) and Valentina Shvedova (Kurskenergo).

In mini-football teams were divided into four groups of three in each. The winners of their groups became teams of Yarenergo, Tambovenergo, Kurskenergo and Belgorodenergo, which in the quarter finals played with Tverenergo, Smolenskenergo, Orelenergo and Bryanskenergo. Tomorrow in the semifinals power engineers from Belgorod and Smolensk, Yaroslavl and Tambov will play.

The volleyball tournament was held almost in the same way. In the semifinals the teams of Belgorod and Yaroslavl, Kostroma and Bryansk will go to the court.

Weightlifters already completed their competition within the Sports Games. The strongest was Ivan Brovdiy from Voronezhenergo’s team. In the snatch, clean, and jerk combination he scored 170 points. Second place went to Gennady Antokhin (Kurskenergo, 139.5 points), third - Pavel Skuratov (Lipetskenergo, 110 points).

Chief referee Maksim Ivanov noted the high level of training, especially in weightlifting, volleyball and mini-football.

"This suggests that sports in IDGC of Centre is paid much attention, the range of events is expanded to be included in the competitions, serious work is conducted to train power engineers-athletes," he stressed.

On 3 June the power engineers will continue to compete in chess, table tennis, athletics (at distances of 1,000 and 3,000 m), swimming (in the 4x50 m relay), as well as the strongest volleyball and mini-football teams will be determined.
