Head of EMERCOM Vladimir Puchkov appreciated the readiness of the Tver branch of IDGC of Centre to the fire-dangerous period

Russian EMERCOM Minister Vladimir Puchkov visited the Tver region to personally check the readiness of the region to the fire-dangerous period. During the show of readiness of forces and means of the territorial subsystem of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations the department head paid special attention to IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division, which presented at the formation off-road vehicles.

Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division director Mikhail Pilavov reported to Vladimir Puchkov on full staffing of power engineers of the largest electric grid company of the Tver region. "In the event of process violations Tverenergo has a fully-formed emergency reserve. 13 mobile crews with 65 specialists were created, equipped with 17 specialized vehicles for rapid response to large-scale technological violations anywhere in the Tver region. In case of a power failure due to forest fires backup lines will be connected, forces and means are always ready for use," clarified Mikhail Pilavov.

Please, be reminded that the company IDGC of Centre carries out constant monitoring of fire situation in the regions of its service area (11 subjects of the Central Federal District). This work is conducted in close cooperation with the territorial divisions of EMERCOM of Russia and Roshydromet, as well as state authorities and local self-government.

Forces of fire-technical committees of the structural subdivisions of branches conduct unscheduled inspections of fire safety condition of facilities under their responsibility and inspection of power equipment. Particular attention is paid to maintenance of outdoor and indoor switchgear, oil warehouses, auxiliary buildings, workshops, as well as substations and protected zones of overhead power lines. The facilities are also checked for equipment with fire extinguishing agents.

In order to prevent fires at electric grid facilities of complex work is performed to clear and extend ROWs of overhead power lines (Conductors). Fire line plowing is produced at 35-110 kV substations and digging around wooden poles of overhead lines in order to create fire breaking lines around them.

In all branches of IDGC of Centre it is planned to conduct joint training and exercises with participation of the executive bodies of subjects of the Russian Federation, territorial divisions of EMERCOM of Russia, local authorities, representatives of other organizations and entities of the electric power industry to simulate the interaction in liquidation of emergency situations with the threat of a power failure in the high temperature period. According to their results, plans of joint actions in case of such situations are developed.

A large amount of work is also provided for preparation for a fire-dangerous period of the company’s employees. Field specific professionals do targeted briefings for the production staff on the rules of fire safety and actions in case of fire.

In total, for operational switching in connection with fires 1,441 emergency repair crews consisting of 7,709 people and 2,465 off-road and specialized vehicles may be involved, including 90 mobile crews composed of 528 people and 116 vehicles.

In addition, the power company does active explanatory work with the population, encouraging citizens to exercise in the fire hazardous period special care, to avoid emergencies.

Implementation of the full set of fire-prevention measures significantly reduces risk of fires and economic damage caused by them. Therefore, IDGC of Centre takes all possible measures that will minimize the risk of fire at power facilities and will ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply to consumers.
