IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division completed work on connection to the grids of a sports and fitness centre (SFC) in the settlement of Kshensky in Soviet district of the Kursk region. The opening ceremony of the new sports facility was held yesterday. It was attended by representatives of the regional administration, the Regional Duma, municipalities, businesses involved in the construction of the socially important facility.
The sports and fitness centre with an area of six thousand square metres includes a universal gaming hall for football, volleyball and basketball, a gym, rooms for fitness, yoga, and a swimming pool - 16 to 25 metres. Simultaneously, the SFC can accommodate 500 people.
Within the grid connection of the facility experts of "Kurskenergo" constructed a modern package transformer substation of 10/04 kV with capacity of 2x250 kVA, two overhead power lines of 10 kV, two cable lines of 0.4 kV and a power supply network of a sewage pumping station.
Attending the opening ceremony of the SFC Governor of the Kursk region Alexander Mikhailov thanked the construction participants for the opportunity for residents of the settlement of Kshen and neighbouring areas, including people with disabilities, to spend free time with benefits doing their favorite sports.
Head of Soviet district Vladimir Savelyev noted the high quality of work performed by the Kursk branch of IDGC of Centre in the grid connection process of the sport facility, and expressed hope that the joint efforts of the government and the power company in the region will create a serious basis for raising a healthy, physically fit generation of young people.
IDGC of Centre makes a significant contribution to the development of sports infrastructure of the Kursk region. Last year, the Kursk branch of the company connected to the company’s grid of a fitness centre in Lgovsky district. Sports enthusiasts can now engage in all year round here in volleyball, basketball, mini-football, boxing, wrestling, gymnastics, competitions of various levels, recreational activities for all age groups. In total for the past two years 30 new playgrounds were opened in the region. Power supply of the majority of them is provided by specialists of IDGC of Centre.

"In this way we do our share in the development of the region, creating opportunities for the realization of the physical, intellectual and creative abilities of people of the Kursk region."
