IDGC of Centre attaches great importance to the prevention of children’s electrical injuries. As part of the program of the same name power engineers collaborate with schools, children’s camps and educational institutions.
Preventive measures in children's health camps in the Yaroslavl region, codenamed "Territory of Safety" is a joint project of IDGC of Centre - Yarenergo division and the regional EMERCOM department.
The idea of the project is in a playful way and in an accessible language for children to talk about safe behaviour on the road, when dealing with gas and electrical appliances, and in a number of other situations.
During the year staff of "Yarenergo" conduct more than 500 lessons on electrical safety, during which they distribute more than 10,000 leaflets with the rules of handling electrical appliances.
Within the large-scale action "Territory of Safety" during the summer the Yaroslavl power engineers visited children’s camps of the Yaroslavl region, where in the form of quizzes and relays they told children about the basic rules, observance of which will allow to avoid electrical shock. The branch staff explained the meaning of prohibiting plates that are installed at electric grid facilities, such as transformer substations and power lines and warned against ignoring these requirements. Talking about the phenomenon as selfie taking, which firmly got into the lives of not only the younger generation, but also adults, they warned against approaching electrical installations for a nice shot, as this can be deadly. They attracted the attention of children with electricians’ gear: hard tops, non-conducting boots and gloves, allowing each to try these things. At the training simulator "Gosha" they showed how to find the pulse and explained the procedure for cardiac arrest and trained to provide first aid.
The joint initiative of "Yarenergo" and the regional EMERCOM department to foster the culture of safe behaviour among adolescents was praised by the government of the Yaroslavl region, having sent a letter of gratitude to the director of the branch:
"I express my gratitude to you and the staff of IDGC of Centre - Yarenergo division for participation in the action "Territory of Safety". Given the undoubted positive result, the benefits and the need for such actions, I hope for further cooperation," stressed in the letter Deputy Prime Minister of the region Rostislav Danilenko.
The regional Federal Drug Control Service, the traffic police, the company "Gazprom gas distribution of Yaroslavl" and the Yaroslavl Chamber Theatre also participated in the past events with their safety programs.
IDGC of Centre - Yarenergo division will continue to implement projects for prevention of electrical injuries in the future, because this issue is a priority in the company. In the new school year employees of "Yarenergo" will hold a series of lessons in educational institutions of the region.
