IDGC of Centre continues to struggle with the theft and fraudulent schemes in the power grid industry

3 July 2015

By appeals of IDGC of Centre only in 2015 law enforcement agencies initiated 60 criminal cases of theft.

IDGC of Centre has repeatedly stated the company's intransigence to abuse in the power grid industry. This is primarily due to the fact that it is only possible for IDGC of Centre to ensure reliable, uninterrupted power supply to consumers if the company has its financial stability.

On the eve details of the investigation of the criminal case initiated on the request of IDGC of Centre in 2013 became known.

The Office for investigation of particularly important cases of the Investigative Committee of Russia announced the arrest and arraignment of former Director of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division Victor Filatov under part 3 of Article 33, part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of embezzlement in particularly large size).

This criminal case is combined into one with a criminal case against former General Director of IDGC of Centre Evgeny Makarov, who together with Viktor Filatov created the conditions for the transfer of more than a thousand IT-specialists of the branches of IDGC of Centre to the company "CorSsys". The transfer was done not to improve the efficiency of the company, but to create the conditions under which only using the services of "CorSsys" IDGC of Centre could exercise fully its activities. This manipulation of the value of the services of "CorSsys", controlled by Evgeny Makarov and Viktor Filatov, allowed to create the conditions for the withdrawal of funds from IDGC of Centre.

Thus, the defendants in the criminal case caused major damage to IDGC of Centre, which limited the electric grid organization to ensure the stability and reliability of electricity supply. As suggested by the investigation, all the actions of Mr. Makarov and Mr. Filatov the company suffered damage amounting to at least 880 million rubles. Moreover, in fact, not only the functioning of the information and technological schemes of IDGC of Centre was put at risk, but also energy security of such regions as the Kursk and Belgorod regions.

The company's management, setting for themselves up as a priority the protection of the financial sustainability of IDGC of Centre from criminal attacks, continues to conduct systematic work to bring to justice those responsible for the damage and return of stolen assets and property, using all legal means.
