Power engineers of IDGC of Centre restored a monument to fallen soldiers in the Kostroma region

22 June 2015

On the eve of the Day of Memory and Sorrow, which is marked on 22 June, power engineers of Ponazyrevsky Distribution Zone of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division restored a monument to soldiers-winners in the settlement of Yakshanga in Ponazyrevsky district of the Kostroma region.

For a long time the memorial of glory to the fallen heroes of the Great Patriotic War was in a deplorable state. The initiator of its restoration was a master of a Yakshangsky crew of power engineers, Sergey Smirnov. He, as well as activists German Rogatko, Alexander Zotov, Sergey Razumov, Ivan Pavlov, Alexander Khrenov with the support of the trade union of Sharinsky Distribution Zone for two weeks performed the necessary work: they fenced graves, cut down the bush, poured a new foundation, made welding, plastered and painted the monument, and installed a new board.

"We are pleased that the power engineers could contribute to the preservation of the memory of the fallen heroes of the war. Thus, we paid tribute to fellow villagers who defended the Motherland," stressed Chief of Ponazyrevsky Distribution Zone Alexey Schepetunin.
