IDGC of Centre is implementing in the Central Federal District an ambitious project dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Great Victory

1 April 2015

IDGC of Centre on the eve of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory has started the implementation of the historical and social project "The Story of a feat". Its goal is to tell as many people as possible in Russia about fellow countrymen, fought in the war at the front and in the rear, of their unknown exploits, and to help the families and loved ones of heroes to perpetuate their memory.

IDGC of Centre created the sites http://istoriyapodviga.ru and историяподвига.рф. Anyone who wants to tell war stories of his or her family, relatives, friends, acquaintances, can post there their stories and attach photos to them, scanned copies of awards and other historical documents. It is planned that local media also will tell stories of heroes, who lived in the regions of the company’s service area, about events that took place there. In addition, the company will hold a series of commemorative events. Thus, in the framework of the project in all regions of the Central Federal District, where IDGC of Centre operates, on the eve of the Victory Day "Avenues of Remembrance" will be planted and names of heroes whose names are learned through the project will be immortalized.

The Action of IDGC of Centre has already found a wide response in the company. Its employees have become authors of many stories about unknown pages of the heroic war, written by members of their families.

"The Action "The Story of a feat" is a kind of memory bridge between the generation of people, who defeated fascism, and young people," noted the project manager - Chairman of the primary trade union organization of IDGC of Centre Victor Ablezgov. "On the eve of the 70th anniversary of the victory we want in a special way to express our deep gratitude and appreciation to veterans who live near us. Each of them has a particular battle or a feat of labour."

Organizers of the action invite anyone who feels like it to participate in the project. To do this you need to write and send online at http://историяподвига.рф or http://istoriyapodviga.ru a story of a participant in the Great Patriotic War and a home front worker: a family member, a friend, an acquaintance and photos and other documents illustrating it. Stories will be stored there, and the names of their heroes will be immortalized in the "Avenues of Remembrance".
