IDGC of Centre exceeded targets for energy savings following the results of 2014

25 February 2015

IDGC of Centre summed up the implementation in 2014 of the program "Energy saving and energy efficiency". The total effect from its performance was 196.6 million KWh (529.2 million rubles), which is 12.2 million KWh (28.2 million rubles) above targets. Electricity losses were minimized to 9.17%.

The company managed to achieve the greatest effect in the framework of the Program in the areas of detection of non-contractual and non-metered consumption, as well as by long-term development of electricity metering systems. Last year as a whole IDGC of Centre identified and included in the scope of services provided 70.2 million kWh of non-metered consumption (with 56.6 million kWh as planned), and 26.71 million kWh of non-contractual energy was paid. In the field of electricity metering systems development IDGC of Centre confirmed its leadership among distribution grid companies in Russia in terms of implementation of the smart metering system, which allows to remotely read meters, control load, use the multi-rate functionality and analyze and plan energy consumption. The full range of measures concerning future development of metering systems allowed the company significantly, by 13.16 million KWh (24.15 million rubles), to reduce the amount of electricity losses and by 19.13 million rubles to increase the volume of services accounted for electricity transmission.

Technical measures also brought good results. In particular, the replacement of wires to a larger cross-section on overloaded power lines gave tangible effect: thanks to it the company’s grid losses were reduced by 6.38 million kWh, which is almost a quarter higher than the target (4.86 million KWh).

The company also exceeded targets in measures for switching off transformers at substations with seasonal loading; installation of reactive power compensation devices, energy-efficient heating appliances for heating switchgear, devices to automatically turn on and off heating systems, ventilation and cooling of equipment at power facilities.

The savings from the Energy Saving and Efficiency Program will be used as an additional source of funding to address priority production problems faced by IDGC of Centre.
