IDGC of Centre shortens terms of connection to the grid in the regions of the Central Federal District

9 February 2015

In the Kostroma region amendments to the Law "On Urban Planning" entered into force - a corresponding decree was signed by Head of the region Sergey Sitnikov. The document expands the list of facilities, construction and reconstruction of which do not require passing procedures of approval by the relevant authorities. In particular, now they cover cables and overhead power line of 0.4 - 10 kV, which are under control of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division. IDGC of Centre initiated the inclusion of the power facilities in the expanded list, the final decision on this issue was the result of agreements between the power engineers and regional authorities. The goal of the innovation is to optimize the grid connection procedure for consumers.

As representatives of the local authorities note, the initiative of IDGC of Centre is in the interest of the region, contributing to its socio-economic development. "The Kostroma region annually increases the volume of housing construction, actively implements the state program "Promotion of housing development and provision of affordable and comfortable housing for citizens". More and more investors expressed a desire to develop their business in the region. Therefore, the demand for new capacity grows all the time," emphasizes a deputy of the Kostroma Regional Duma, Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy and Entrepreneurship of the Regional Duma Dmitry Zafirov.

"All 100% requests at Kostromaenergo for connection to the grid fall within the voltage class of 0.4 - 10 kV," notes Deputy Director for Development and Sale of Services of the branch Alexey Nikonorov. "To meet them, in some cases, it is required in the short term to construct new facilities and grid infrastructure and efficiently provide connection to the grid of housing projects. The legislative amendments help resolve this issue by helping to reduce the terms of the grid connection procedure up to 90 days."

IDGC of Centre does the work to reduce the grid connection timing within the approved by the Government of the Russian Federation "road map" to improve the availability of power grid infrastructure. During its implementation the company interacts effectively with the management of the regions of its service area (11 subjects of the Central Federal District). IDGC of Centre initiated the process of making amendments to local laws, which remove harmonization of construction of power lines of 0.4 - 10 kV, in 2014. The first region, where they took effect, was the Yaroslavl region. In the near future, the company intends to distribute this experience in other regions of its operations.
