A seminar-meeting of IDGC of Centre’s lawyers took place in Uglich

One of the most picturesque cities in the Yaroslavl region was visited by leaders of the legal unit of IDGC of Centre, senior managers and specialists of legal support of all branches of the company. The purpose of the meeting was to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the legal unit of the company, discussion of the features of the Russian legislation in the field of the electric power industry.

The sectoral legislation in the energy industry has a complex structure. Work of power engineers and their interaction with other market entities are governed by regulations of the federal and regional levels. Therefore, the key to the full functioning of business processes of grid companies is competent law enforcement, professional and highly qualified specialists of the legal unit. The event held in Uglich was aimed to solve this very issue.

The main part of the meeting was a seminar on topical legal issues. A representative of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia presented to the participants of the meeting reports on compliance with antitrust laws. A representative of the legal department of JSC "Russian Grids" Vladimir Katorov talked on the regulatory activities of the largest electric grid company, a subsidiary of which is IDGC of Centre. Authoritative legal scholars with leading practice Vladimir E.M. and Vasily Vitryansky acquainted with the prospects of reforming the current issues of civil law, in particular, civil and arbitration procedures, and also features on the use of legislation in the field of electricity industry.

After the reports the discussion of the most topical issues was continued in the format of a production meeting. Representatives of the branches shared experience solving various issues in their regions and considered the most revealing judicial precedents. During the meeting the need to create a uniform legal practice in cases involving the Company was outlined and instructions were given to work in a number of specific areas.

"Today, there are a number of pressing issues that require discussion and development of a common position. Some of them refer to antitrust, asset consolidation and work with local grid and retail companies. In each case, it requires skilled and time-consuming work of the legal unit. Lawyers always have a great responsibility in companies that are active in business activities," stressed Legal Director of IDGC of Centre Alina Akhmedova.
