Power engineers of IDGC of Centre are implementing a range of additional measures to ensure reliable power supply to consumers in deteriorating weather conditions

10 January 2014

Power engineers of IDGC of Centre have started to implement additional measures to ensure reliable operation of the electric grid complex due to possible deterioration of weather conditions. The relevant decisions were taken at the last meeting on the eve of the company’s Headquarters, where its members discussed the current operating environment and weather forecast for the service area of the company.

According to the Hydrometeorological Centre, worsening of weather conditions is expected in the Central Federal District in the coming days: temperature drop, heavy precipitation, wind, and blizzards. In this regard, following the meeting of the Headquarters the company’s branch offices were requested to ensure in the territories of their service area constant monitoring of the actual weather conditions to check the availability of mobile crews, emergency reserve and vehicles, redundant power supply sources. Operational control of the situation in all branches of IDGC of Centre will be performed by the operational and situational centre of the company.

The measures taken will allow the power engineers of IDGC of Centre as quickly as possible to respond to the worsening of weather conditions, as well as to ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply to consumers, industrial and social facilities in the regions of their service area.
