December 2, 2013 as a result of the passage of the cyclone, accompanied by wet snow and wind gusts up to 20 m/s, on the part of the Smolensk region there was an interruption of power supply. Most affected by the bad weather territories were Yartsevsky, Demidovsky and Velizhsky districts of the region.
Now the specialists of IDGC of Centre — Smolenskenergo division continue emergency and repair work, the course of which is controlled by the operational headquarters of IDGC of Centre and the General Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in the Smolensk region.
In the field there are 50 crews of repair personnel of Smolenskenergo (150 people) and 52 special vehicles. The work will go continuously until power supply is restored. All socially significant facilities have been energized. Power supply is planned to be restored by the end of the day.
