IDGC of Centre (a subsidiary of JSC «Russian Grids») completed its part in the Second International Forum on Energy Efficiency and Conservation ENES 2013.
Representatives of IDGC of Centre took part in an intensive business program, where, together with heads of large enterprises, representatives of federal and regional authorities, businessmen discussed the mechanisms of the state program in reducing the energy intensity of industry and familiarized themselves with international best practices, and with the new developments in the field of energy conservation.
General Director of IDGC of Centre Oleg Isaev participated in a panel discussion titled «Zero growth rate: is it possible to increase energy efficiency and modernization of the distribution grid complex». During his speech, Oleg Isaev elaborated on the most promising activities, the implementation of which will increase energy efficiency significantly for the company and the entire distribution sector.
According to the head of IDGC of Centre there is some considerable potential to reduce losses in electric energy transmission. Experts estimate that the technical potential for energy conservation in the distribution grid system of the country is 25 billion kWh. The main activities, allowing in the most efficient way in the short term to reduce losses, are reactive power compensation and optimization of operating modes of the grid.
The forum was attended by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. During familiarization with the exposition Dmitry Medvedev visited demonstration stands of regional administrations and major energy companies, including the stand of IDGC of Centre.
General Director of IDGC of Centre Oleg Isaev in details told the Prime Minister about the physical model to control the distribution grid complex operation modes, which allows qualitatively to change the approach to deal with reactive power. Dmitry Medvedev was demonstrated economic effect of energy conservation and energy efficiency measures aimed at improving the reliability, quality, accessibility and efficiency of power supply in the service area of IDGC of Centre and the whole of Russia.
During the forum, in Gostiny Dvor there was a meeting of the Presidium of the Presidential Council on economic modernization and innovative development of Russia, chaired by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, Economic Development Minister Alexey Ulyukayev, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, Education and Science Minister Dmitry Livanov, Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Mikhail Men, Regional Development Minister Igor Slyunyaev, Agriculture Minister Nikolay Fyodorov, Head of JSC «Russian Grids» Oleg Budargin, representatives of executive authorities, and managers of large companies and others.
The meeting discussed issues of innovative projects implementation in the field of energy efficiency and conservation, creation of new energy-saving technologies, development of fuel cells and specialized equipment.
During the meeting, Head of JSC «Russian Grids» noted that there is need to add some economic mechanisms and incentives to the administrative decision to freeze tariffs. «JSC „Russian Grids“ is ready for low growth rate, but in the long term,» said Head of the company Oleg Budargin. «Long-term rate, let it be small, but long-term,» underlined the head of JSC «Russian Grids».
During the forum, IDGC of Centre and Moscow Power Engineering Institute signed an agreement on cooperation development. Its signing is aimed at developing relationships between IDGC of Centre and MPEI in matters of target training of young specialists and their practical work at facilities of IDGC of Centre.
The final day of the forum was devoted to the youth. The forum ENES 2013 brought together young professionals and personnel reserve of energy companies, post-graduate students, pupils of special schools. As part of the youth day was the National Park of youth initiatives was opened to promote a culture of energy efficiency and conservation in the Russian Federation, and the All-Russian contest of the best energy programs for pupils, students and young specialists was also held.
As part of the contest, the team of IDGC of Centre presented to Minister of Energy of Russia A. V. Novak a certificate of a project being developed on the topic «How to improve energy efficiency of the electric grid complex», as well as conducted a visualization of this topic for the forum visitors.
