IDGC of Centre – Tambovenergo division has received its certificate of readiness

October 5 the Commission to check the readiness of Tambovenergo for the autumn-winter operation period 2012/2013 summed up the work. An expert group, composed of the heads of IDGC of Centre, FGC UES, specialists of fuel and energy complex and housing Office of the Administration of the Tambov region, and RTN confirmed the readiness of the company to operate at peak loads.

The main outcome of the test was to obtain the Certificate of readiness to operate through the autumn-winter period, which was presented to the staff by Head of Technical Inspection Department of IDGC of Centre Oleg Rochagov.

A key element in the preparation of the electric grid complex in the region to ensure reliable operation in the autumn-winter period was the implementation of the repair program. Over 107 million rubles were spent on its implementation in the current year. At the moment, Tambov power engineers have repaired over one thousand of kilometres of power lines of 0.4-110 kV, 160 transformer substations of 6-10/0.4 kV, also completed the repair of 4 substations of 35-110 kV.

107 hectares of ROWs along power lines were expanded and cleared off tree and shrub seedlings. From the beginning of the year 363.5 hectares of ROWs have been cleared. For consumers of the private sector more than two kilometers of worn bare wire were replaced with self-supporting insulated wire. At 17 substations arc protection was installed, in addition, oil circuit breakers were replaced with vacuum ones.

Particular importance was given to the state of networks supplying socially important facilities. The preparatory work for the autumn-winter period included a safety inspection and removal of faults in cables and overhead power supply network of kindergartens, schools and health facilities.

Currently Tambovenergo has fully prepared its emergency stock, employees are provided with new special vehicles and equipment for restoration operations. Also the staff is fully provided with sets of winter and summer clothing, resistant to electric arc, and electric protective gear.

To perform restoration operations the branch has 29 day-night first responding mobile crews. In addition, 10 mobile crews of 40 people and 20 vehicles were formed, which are equipped with tools, appliances and food for a few days and can be quickly sent to any part of the region, or to help colleagues in other regions in the event of a possible technological disturbance.

The commission of the branch summed up the preparation of all departments to the autumn-winter period, acts of readiness were signed and Certificates were handed to all Distribution Zones of the branch.

This year with the participation of operational — maintenance personnel 26 emergency response trainings were held to eliminate faults in the conditions of low temperatures. Joint exercises with FGC UES — Upper Don PMES, Tambov TCC, EMERCOM, and the authorities of the Tambov region were also conducted.

Head of state power supervision and gas transmission network supervision department in the Tambov region, Nikolay Perunovsky noted the high quality of the repair performance by IDGC of Centre — Tambovenergo division, the professional of training of employees at all levels, and expressed his conviction that in the event of unforeseen technological failures the team of the company is sure to handle it.

Concluding the meeting, Head of Technical Inspection Department of IDGC of Centre Oleg Rochagov said: “During this period, the work was very hard. For the first time the Certificate of readiness is being handed over to the branch a whole month ahead of schedule. It is encouraging that the power engineers could take all of the planned technical measures and confidently measured out such a significant milestone.”

In conclusion, Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre — Tambovenergo division director Vladimir Syschikov stressed that the company is ready to go smoothly through the upcoming peak loads, “Obtaining the Certificate of readiness is an important outcome of many months of work of Tambov power engineers. This winter we will do our best to make the region’s electric grid complex work reliably, without technical violations.”
