During six decades Belgorod power grids ensure reliable and qualitative power supply of the regional centre which level of consumption increases annually by 15 %. The required reliability indicators are ensured by means of reconstruction of power grids, multiple capacity reservation, introduction of advanced technologies and up-to-date equipment as well as dual-beam scheme of power supply of the city. 
In 2009 power engineers constructed over 200 km of new grids of 6/10/0,4 kv, connected to the grid 27 transformer and 2 distribution points. Automatic transfer switch installations are being introduced at new objects and those that are being constructed. Overhead lines of 0,4 kv are being constructed using up-to-date self-supporting insulated conductor, cable lines of 0,4 kv — using cross-linked polyethylene cable. This year up-to-date cross-linked polyethylene cable will be used at laying of high-voltage PTL. Diagnostics of cable lines of 6—10 kv and fault localization are performed with the help of up-to-date mobile power technical laboratory.
Technical loss level over Belgorod does not exceed 8 % owing to methodical work. It can be reduced by means of constant modernization and servicing of intra-house grids, to what Belgorod power grids proceeded last year 
for the first time. Retail and office center “Vatutinskoe” became the pilot one, where power engineers fulfilled large volume of works on repair and replacement of power equipment and wiring in house.
IDGC of Centre, JSC pays much attention to labor safety: optimum labor conditions are created, overall and personal protection equipment are purchased for employees. Perfectly equipped gym and medical and psychological centre of diagnostics and rehabilitation which was opened on production base of the enterprise allow power engineers to be in excellent physical form, improve health and get rid of emotional tension. Following the results of 2008 BPG won the city view-contest “Safety labor conditions are factor for live quality growth” in nominations “The best enterprise of fuel and energy complex and Housing and utilities” and “The best cabinet for labor protection”, they were recognized to be the best housing and utilities enterprise of Russia as well.
