Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo allocated more than 1.5 million rubles for environmental protection measures since the beginning of the year

07.08.2020

The branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” summed up the results of the implementation of the environmental safety program for the first half of 2020, aimed at implementing the environmental policy of the branch’s power grid complex. At the beginning of the year, power engineers carried out about 20 environmental protection measures. More than 1.5 million rubles were allocated for these purposes.

The program pays much attention to technical measures aimed at reducing the negative impact on the environment during the operation of equipment. Since the beginning of the year, the Kostroma power engineers have completed overhaul of more than 50 circuit breakers.

At the branch’s power grid facilities, bare wire is being replaced with self-supporting insulated wire (SIW). So, for six months, the power engineers reconstructed over 35 kilometres of 0.4-10 kV overhead lines, replacing the bare wire with self-supporting insulated wire (SIW) in the 0.4 kV grid, and also replaced 12 kilometres on 6-10 kV overhead lines. This measure allows to reduce the cutting area of routes, as well as to protect birds from electric shock.

Work continued to control emissions of pollutants into the air. The branch concluded an agreement for monitoring pollutant emissions from 45 stationary emission sources and at the border of sanitary protection zones of Kostromaenergo’s facilities.

For 6 months of 2020, more than 236 tons of waste were transferred to third-party organizations licensed to collect, transport, process, utilize, decontaminate, and dispose of waste of hazard classes I - IV. Disposal costs exceeded 895 thousand rubles. More than 140 thousand rubles were spent on greening and landscaping of premises of units of the branch.

9 employees of Kostromaenergo, responsible for environmental protection, have been trained since the beginning of the year on environmental safety programs, including when working in the field of hazardous waste management. Most of them, due to the complication of the epidemiological situation, received the new knowledge remotely.

By the end of the year, the power engineers plan to carry out about 16 more environmental safety measures, including, in particular, instrumental measurements of atmospheric air, inventory of waste, purchase of vehicles using gas engine fuel, construction and reconstruction of 0.4 kV overhead lines using self-supporting insulated wire, repair of oil switches. By the end of the year, it is planned to allocate more than 3.5 million rubles for the implementation of the environmental program.
