“Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo” implements an intelligent video surveillance system for power facilities

13.07.2020

Power engineers at Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo are implementing a pilot project at the 35/10 kV “Soshki” substation in the Gryazinsky district to introduce round-the-clock visual monitoring with video analysis elements to improve the reliability of energy facilities and the safety of operating personnel.

A cloud-based service for video surveillance will provide real-time monitoring of the substation, and an intelligent system will notify of entry of unauthorized persons to the power facility using sms, email or push notifications. The filter system will allow to control the entire territory of the substation, as well as specific sections of the perimeter, and equipment elements.

“The use of a modern high-tech service is an effective tool for power engineers in the fight against theft of electrical equipment. We plan to continue implementing continuous monitoring technologies for power equipment at other substations in the region,” stressed Mikhail Boev, First Deputy Director - Chief Engineer of the branch “Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo”.
