Kostromaenergo since the beginning of the year cleared more than 599 ha of routes of power lines

06.07.2020

The branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo”, ahead of schedule, is working on clearing routes of power lines from trees and shrubs. For 5 months of the current year, the actual clearing amounted to 599.08 hectares of routes along overhead lines, with a plan of 547.21 hectares. The largest scope of work was performed in the Kostromsky, Rozhdestvensky and Chukhlomsky districts of the Kostroma region.

When clearing long routes along overhead lines, bulldozers are used, which work in difficult terrain.

Clearing routes of overhead lines is carried out year-round, regardless of weather conditions. All events are carried out in strict accordance with regulatory rules and legal requirements.

“This allows us to minimize the risk of technological disruptions caused by trees falling onto overhead lines,” stressed Alexander Chutkov, deputy chief engineer for operations and head of Kostromaenergo’s high-voltage grids department.

Currently, power engineers are actively clearing the 110 kV overhead line Kostroma-2-Severnaya. This line provides electricity to the main part of the city of Kostroma. Out of 18 hectares, clearing of 8.6 hectares has already been completed.

In total, in 2020, Kostromaenergo’s employees will clear more than 1,717.28 ha of routes from shrubs and trees in security zones of overhead power lines.
