02.07.2020

The branch “Rosseti Centre Yarenergo” conducted the second online lesson of the distance course on electrical safety for specialists from territorial commissions and departments for minors, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Yaroslavl region as part of the regional methodological council in the Regional Government. More than 60 employees of structures and departments from all districts took part in the videoconference.

Yaroslavl power engineers took part in an event of this format for the first time, despite the fact that they have been working on the prevention of electrical safety for many years. The topic of preventing children’s electrical injuries aroused keen interest among listeners and was rarely touched upon earlier. How to protect children from the effects of electric current, what warning signs and their placement on electrical installations should be known to adults and children, as well as possible consequences of non-compliance with elementary rules was said by Deputy Chief Engineer - Head of the Industrial Safety and Production Control Office Oleg Lazayev. “Children should be regularly reminded of the correct choice of places for games - away from power lines and substations,” stressed Oleg Lazayev. “Selfies near electrical installations, penetration into premises of energy facilities, and reckless and rash actions of adults during construction work lead to tragic consequences.”

The power engineers demonstrated statistics of third-party electrical injuries at power facilities of the electric grid complex of the Russian Federation, introduced the most typical fatal accidents and serious health consequences recorded in a number of regions of the country. Svetlana Morozova, deputy head of the organization department for precinct police and juvenile divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Yaroslavl region, noted that there have been no accidents with electrical injuries in the region in recent years.

“At the initiative of Yarenergo’s employees, one of the issues addressed at the meeting was devoted to the prevention of children’s electrical injuries. The topic seemed to us important and requiring special attention, so this summer we will continue to work together with the energy sector in this direction,” stressed Irina Shishakova, head of the department for minors and protecting their rights of the Department of Social and Demographic Policy of the Government of the Yaroslavl Region.

The specialists of Yarenergo are sure that the combination of efforts during such preventive work with the population will increase the vigilance of adults and the caution of children. The result of this online meeting was an agreement between the participating structures on the continuation of joint activities with the Yarenergo branch in a new remote format. The first online lesson as part of the distance course on electrical safety was held in June for 73 pupils of the “Coddy” programming school, which works during the holidays at the Museum of Entertaining Sciences in Yaroslavl.
