By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of 8 June 2020, Sergey Shabelnikov, senior foreman of the eastern section of the substation service of the branch of IDGC of Centre, PJSC - Belgorodenergo, and Yury Chekhov, an electrician of a first responding mobile crew of the Rovensky Distribution Zone, for merits in the field of energy and long-term conscientious work were awarded the honorary title “Honoured Power Engineer of the Russian Federation”. Both have been working in the branch for more than two decades.
The awards were given to the power engineers by Governor of the Belgorod Region, Yevgeny Savchenko.
Sergey Shabelnikov began his career as an electrician for operational switching in distribution grids of the Volokonovsky district. He worked as a dispatcher, a foreman of a group of substations and for ten years he has been working as a senior foreman in the eastern section of the substation service. He is a master to repair high-voltage electrical equipment. He supervised the reconstruction of a number of substations of 35-110 kV, providing electricity to consumers in the east of the region. A great contribution was made to the construction of the new 110/10 kV “Vatutinskaya” substation, commissioned in 2017 by an order of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Yury Chekhov is an experienced, highly qualified electrician of a first responding mobile crew of the Rovensky Distribution Zone. In his official capacity, he carries out scheduled and post-emergency inspections of equipment, carries out the clearance of crews of construction and installation organizations to work at power facilities.
Yury Chekhov participated in the development of power supply schemes and the connection of dozens of socially significant facilities to the grids, made a significant contribution to the implementation of an automated system of commercial electricity metering in the district. He was repeatedly involved in the elimination of weather disasters. His professionalism and technical literacy have always ensured the speedy restoration of energy supply to consumers in the Rovensky district after passing through atmospheric cyclones.
Sergey Shabelnikov and Yury Chekhov share the knowledge and experience gained over the years of work in the region’s energy sector with young specialists, shaping the future shift of qualified specialists.
