Within the framework of the 2020 repair campaign, power engineers of the branch “Rosseti Centre Smolenskenergo” have begun work at the 110/35/10 kV “Kardymovo” substation, located in the settlement of the same name, the administrative centre of the Kardymovsky district of the Smolensk region. Work will be carried out during June and July.
The substation is the main feeding centre of the urban-type village of Kardymovo, in which more than 4.6 thousand inhabitants live. The substation also powers Baltenergomash LLC, an enterprise producing package transformer substations and their components.
Repair work is carried out to improve the reliability and quality of power supply for these consumers, as well as in preparation for the region’s complex for the upcoming autumn-winter period.
Half of the planned work will be completed during June, that is, the branch’s specialists will perform overhaul of three 35 kV circuit breakers and 11 35-110 kV disconnectors, current repair of one 110 kV power transformer with a capacity of 16 MVA, as well as replacement of 48 supporting-rod insulators at the substation.
In the current epidemiological situation, the power engineers are provided with the necessary antiseptic and personal protective equipment, daily monitoring of the health of personnel is carried out. At the same time, the scope of work planned at the beginning of the year is being performed fully and on time.
