A request to the branch “Rosseti Centre Tverenergo” regarding the provision of an independent power source for the Rzhev Memorial Complex to the Soviet soldier was received from the Ministry of Energy and Housing and Public Utilities of the Tver Region.
The large size of the monument, the height of which reaches 25 metres, suggests the presence of perimeter LED lights that provide the object’s visibility for aircraft pilots in all weather conditions and at night.
For electrification of the memorial complex by power engineers, a set of works was carried out on grid connection of the facility. The power supply of the architectural ensemble is carried out from the 110/35/10 kV substation “Rzhev”.
In case of failure of the main source of power supply, undervoltage or its momentary interruption, according to the Federal Aviation Rules, it is recommended to include emergency power supply for perimeter lights.
Power engineers of “Rosseti Centre Tverenergo” promptly responded to the request of the Regional Government and carried out commissioning of an independent uninterruptible power supply source. Further maintenance of the diesel generator set will also be carried out by the Tver branch of Rosseti Centre.
“The installation of the independent power supply will ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity for the perimeter light system, with which the 25-metre memorial complex is equipped for the guaranteed flight safety of aircraft,” notes First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Alexander Pilyugin. “The set of works carried out by the Tver branch of Rosseti Centre is a tribute to the tragic pages of our history, as well as respect to all the soldiers who fell on the battlefields, whose feat is embodied and immortalized in the unique sculpture of the Soviet Soldier.”
The opening of the Rzhev Memorial is planned in 2020 as part of the celebrations dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory. It is planned that in terms of scale it will become one of the five largest memorial complexes of Russia dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.
