Kostromaenergo’s volunteers paid tribute to founders of the enterprise

26.05.2020

Volunteers of the “League of Good” association of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo”, together with the trade union organization of the enterprise, put in order the burial places of the first managers of the enterprise. This is an annual tradition when young people and veterans pay tribute to those who stood at the origins of the formation of the Kostroma energy system. The grave of the first manager of Kostromaenergo, Alexander Voronov, was visited by Director of the branch, Dmitry Prokhorov. He noted that it is very important for volunteers, members of the Youth Council to know the history of their enterprise, how and by whom it was created. This connection of generations allows us to create a sense of ownership, unity, corporate culture, which the energy industry could always be proud of.

Alexander A. Voronov became the first head of the regional energy department of Kostromaenergo, which was created on 30 January 1961. The years of his work are connected with the period of continuous electrification of the Kostroma region, when electricity came to the most remote corners of the region, and the local industry received serious technological and energy incentives for growth and development. An experienced power engineer, a front-line soldier, he picked up a team of like-minded people, professionals in his field. Now they are no longer alive, but their names and their contribution to the development of the energy system were carefully preserved by the volunteers in the “Chronicle of Labour Glory”, which is stored in Kostromaenergo’s Museum of History.
