09.05.2020

A series of events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory took place at the branch “Rosseti Centre Tverenergo”.

On the eve of the holiday, the branch held a single volunteer clean-up dedicated to the improvement of fraternal burials and monuments of the Great Patriotic War. The events were held in all Distribution Zones of Tverenergo and covered 20 memorial complexes.

So, employees of the Torzhoksky Distribution Zone initiated the beautification of a mass grave in the village of Mironierzhy of the Torzhoksky district. In October 1941, to the east of the village, Nazi troops were stopped advancing on Torzhok. The remains of the Red Army soldiers, who heroically liquidated the Maryinsky breakthrough, rest here. Tverenergo’s power engineers completely cleaned the surrounding area from dead wood, weeded the grass, cleaned up the garbage and updated the inscriptions on the memorial plate.

Power engineers of the Konakovsky Distribution Zone of the branch paid a tribute of memory and respect to soldiers who fell in battle battles in the Great Patriotic War by visiting the Memorial to the memory of the feat of Sergeant Vasilkovsky in the village of Ryabinki of the Konakovsky district.

Sergeant Vyacheslav V. Vasilkovsky died in 1941, protecting the village of Ryabinki from being captured by German soldiers on the outskirts of Konakovo. During the decisive battle, he crept up to the enemy bunker and threw himself on him with his chest, crushing the trunk of the fascist machine gun with his body. The brave warrior died, but saved many fighters and commanders, ensured the success of the battle to his units and brought Victory closer at the cost of his life.

Tver power engineers carried out cleaning and painting of the monument, as well as repairing street lighting and pruning the crowns of trees, which threatened to fall on overhead lines, providing electricity for illuminating the memorial complex.

Tverenergo pays special attention to those on whose shoulders after bloody battles for their homeland the restoration and development of the power system of the Tver Territory fell. A tribute to the front-line power engineers in the branch is not just one-time actions, but constant care for the older generation, whose representatives endured all the hardships of wartime, saved the homeland from the enemy, and gave millions of compatriots a peaceful life.

On Victory Day, Tverenergo annually congratulates veterans of the Great Patriotic War. The branch provides financial support to the generation of winners, including in difficult situations.

On 9 May, Alexander Pilyugin, First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region, visited veterans of Kalinenergo, Aleksey A. Porkhachev, a participant of the Rzhev Battle, and Alexander V. Afanasyev, who fought in the artillery troops on the Belorussian Front. When visiting the veterans, the power engineers observed all preventive protection measures aimed at maintaining the health of older people.

At the end of the memorable events of the Great Victory Day, the employees of “Rosseti Centre Tverenergo” laid flowers at the Victory Obelisk as a sign of participation in historical memory and reverent attitude to all those who fell on the battlefields for the freedom of the Fatherland.

“For the team of “Rosseti Centre Tverenergo”, this bright holiday is a wonderful and significant occasion to pay tribute to the heroic feat of front-line soldiers, home front workers, all those who, without sparing their own lives, forged the Great Victory. It is especially important that the memory of those, who gave us a peaceful sky over our heads, remains for centuries and is honoured by the young generation,” stressed Alexander Pilyugin, First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.
