By the anniversary Victory Day, employees of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” reconstructed the memorial stele on the territory of the City Distribution Zone in Kostroma. Today, it was visited by the head of the city of Kostroma, Yury Zhurin.

The reconstruction of the stele in the City Distribution Zone, which was created on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, took place during 2020. Here, on the initiative of Dmitry Prokhorov, Deputy General Director - Director of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo”, 10 years later, to the already existing Book of Memory of employees of Gorelektroset, who died in 1941-1945, 4 more commemorative granite slabs were installed with the names of 77 power engineers who fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. Among them are ordinary Red Army soldiers, sergeants, sergeant-majors, lieutenants, captains, representatives of the fleet from different districts of the Kostroma region. The work was performed by employees of the City Distribution Zone.

The head of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” Dmitry Prokhorov drew attention to the photo stands installed next to the stele, demonstrating both the stages of reconstruction of the memorial in the City Distribution Zone and the improvement of memorials in Distribution Zones of the Kostroma region. A volunteer of the branch “League of Good” presented the Immortal Regiment, made in a banner format that displays photos of 24 front-line soldiers - relatives of the branch’s working employees. At the end, Yury Zhurin laid a basket of flowers at the memorial and thanked the leadership of Kostromaenergo for respecting the memory of the front-line power engineers.

The reconstruction of the memorial stele in the City Distribution Zone is only part of the work that the employees of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” performed for the anniversary Victory Day. Several projects have been implemented dedicated to a significant date not only in the regional centre, but also in districts of the Kostroma region. So, in each of the 27 districts of the Kostroma region, power engineers from the Distribution Zones put in order the burial places for power engineers participating in the Great Patriotic War, commemorated and reconstructed memorials and monuments, organized a large cycle of joint actions with volunteers of “League of Good “We are Together”, within which young power engineers, in strict compliance with sanitary protection standards, visited veterans and workers in the rear, handing them memorable gifts from the branch.

Employees of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region on the eve of the memorable date in all 20 regions of presence carried out large-scale reconstruction, providing electricity, putting in order, of more than 250 memorial complexes.
