Kurskenergo since the beginning of the year cleared more than 193 hectares of routes of power lines

26.03.2020

The branch “Rosseti Centre Kurskenergo”, ahead of schedule, is working on clearing routes of power lines from trees and shrubs. To date, actual implementation has exceeded the planned value by more than four times: 193.6 hectares of routes of overhead lines have been cleared with a plan of 39.9 hectares. The largest scope of work was performed in the Kursky, Rylsky, Gorshechensky districts of the Kursk region.

Such indicators were achieved, including through the use of modern clearing technologies. Kurskenergo’s specialists use mulchers - mechanical wood shredders, which allow the entire clearing process to be carried out in one technological operation. At the same time, the volume of manual labour is reduced, productivity is increased, the area and volume of clearing is significantly increased. Currently, two mulchers are working on routes of 35-110 kV power lines in the Zheleznogorsky and Belovsky districts of the region. When clearing long routes of overhead lines with a wide route, a bulldozer is used that works in difficult terrain.

Clearing routes of overhead lines is carried out year-round, regardless of weather conditions. All events are carried out in strict accordance with regulatory rules and legal requirements. “This allows us to minimize the risk of technological disruptions caused by trees falling onto overhead wires,” stressed Alexander Muratov, the deputy chief engineer for industrial asset management and development of Kurskenergo.

In total, in 2020, Kurskenergo’s employees will clear more than 782 ha of routes from shrubs and trees in exclusion zones of overhead power lines.
