Belgorodenergo commissioned 82 MVA of new capacity

19.02.2020

In 2019, as part of the implementation of the investment program of Rosseti Centre Belgorodenergo, it commissioned 82 MVA of transformer capacity, constructed and reconstructed over 570 kilometres of 0.4-110 kV power lines in the region. The capital investments amounted to 2.9 billion rubles.

Fixed assets are aimed at improving the reliability of the electric grid complex, developing supply centres, reconstructing outdated grids, building infrastructure for connecting plots of individual housing developers, executing grid connection agreements, and implementing digital transformation projects for grids.

A major project of the year was the comprehensive modernization of the 35/10 kV “Nikolskoye” substation. The power of the supply centre was increased from 2.5 to 8 MW, equipment and automated systems were reconstructed using digital substation technologies. All data on telemetry, remote control and signalling of the modern supply centre via digital data transmission channels now go to the Grid Control Centre. This increased the reliability and quality of power supply to 10 thousand consumers, industrial and social facilities located in the densely populated suburb of Belgorod.

A high level of observability and rapid response to emergency processes was implemented at the 110 kV “Promyshlennaya” substation in Stary Oskol with an installed capacity of 50 MVA. As part of the reconstruction the power engineers replaced relay protection and emergency automation systems, upgraded remote control and electricity metering systems, installed vacuum and SF6 switches instead of morally and physically obsolete oil switches and short-circuiters. The facility provides power supply to the “Slavyanka” confectionery factory, “Avida” dairy plant, a step-up pumping station of the Oskol water utility and several other large enterprises and population of the city district.

Under the program of technical re-equipment and reconstruction, 111 km of power lines passing through villages and towns of the region were modernized. More than 50 kilometres were constructed in individual housing construction residential micro-districts to connect land owners to centralized power supply.

In 2019, the branch fulfilled 6,433 contracts for connection of consumers with a total capacity of 148.6 MW. 4,970 individuals (60.5 MW) and 1,463 legal entities (88.1 MW) were connected to the electric grids, including social institutions, small businesses, and agro-industrial facilities operating under import substitution programs.

Under the program of digital transformation of the electric grid complex, Belgorodenergo implements 26 innovative projects that are unique in their essence and significance for the economy of the region. In particular, the first in the region system of distributed automation of the 6-10 kV grid was constructed in the Borisovsky district, all transformer substations in the region are equipped with telemetry devices with remote control of technical parameters of the equipment and quality of transmitted electricity. In Belgorod and Stary Oskol, modern control centres were put into operation, combining the management of the grid of neighbouring districts on a single site.
