Kostromaenergo’s united team won in competitive skiing

The united team of specialists of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” successfully performed at the cross-country skiing games. The sports competitions, organized by the Kostroma Regional Union “Federation of Trade Union Organizations of the Kostroma Region”, were held at the ski base of sports school No. 5 of the city of Kostroma.

Apart from the power engineers, about 50 representatives of trade union organizations of workers in industry, forestry, health care, culture, military personnel, and employees of state institutions became participants in the tournament.

Kostromaenergo’s team was represented by Ilya Bolshakov, an electrician for distribution grid operation of the Volgorechensky Distribution Zone, Sergey Meshalnikov, a dispatcher of the operational-technological section of the grid control centre, and Alexey Menshikov, a master of the City Distribution Zone. They performed respectively in three age groups: up to 30 years old, 30-45 years old and over 45 years old. The participants competed in cross-country skiing at a distance of 4.5 km.

Following the results of the competition, the team “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” won a landslide victory and took both the first team place and the first three places in the individual classification of each participant in their age category.

“We have been participating in such cross-country skiing competitions for the second year in a row,” says Pavel Petukhov, the chairman of the trade union organization of Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo, “during the year, workers also take part in chess, swimming, athletics, indoor soccer, table tennis and almost they always win prizes, but they have received such many awards for the first time.”
