Power engineers of Rosseti Centre Kurskenergo reduced the failure rate in grids by 37 percent

18.02.2020

The failure rate in grids of 0.4 kV and above of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kurskenergo” in 2019 was reduced by 37 percent compared to 2018. The average duration of a power outage for consumers in the period under review did not exceed 1.84 hours.

It was possible to reduce the number of technological disruptions in the grid thanks to a detailed analysis of each emerging technological violation, a planned algorithm of employees’ actions for various scenarios.

The annual reduction of technological irregularities is also affected by the implementation of the program for maintenance and repair of the branch’s power equipment. So, over the past year, Kurskenergo’s specialists repaired more than 1,838 km of 0.4-110 kV overhead power lines, replaced 17,609 insulators and over 21.5 km of lightning protection cables. Equipment was repaired at 321 transformer substations of 10/0.4 kV.

To ensure reliable energy supply to consumers, over 908.7 hectares of routes of power lines of various voltage levels were also cleared from tree and shrub vegetation.

“Rapid response to emergencies, reducing the time of emergency recovery work along with the successful implementation of the repair program allow us to ensure reliable and uninterrupted supply of electricity to consumers,” stressed Vyacheslav Istomin, Kurskenergo’s first deputy director - chief engineer.
