Yaroslavl power engineers told schoolchildren about their work

10.02.2020

Specialists of the branch “Rosseti Centre Yarenergo” conducted a tour of the enterprise for schoolchildren of the 3rd grade of school No. 58 in the city of Yaroslavl. The power engineers showed the children the substation “Severnaya” and explained in plain language why such power facilities are needed and how they work. In the Museum of the History of the Yaroslavl Energy System, the schoolchildren were told about the first urban power plants and power lines, large-scale construction projects of the early five-year periods, and the active development of the region’s energy system in the post-war period. It turned out that the children have additional history lessons at the school and therefore, despite their young age, they are well versed in dates. The children answered the guide without difficulty when there was the revolution, the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War and examined photographs of a hundred years ago with interest.

The power engineers paid special attention to clarifying the rules for safe handling of electricity. An electrical safety lesson was organized for the schoolchildren in the safety classroom, during which the power engineers conveyed information about the extreme danger of electric current to the children and explained how to proceed in order to avoid accidents.
