On 6 February, on the basis of Rosseti Centre Belgorodenergo, a working meeting of representatives of IT departments of subsidiaries and affiliates of PJSC Rosseti on the design and organization of digital operational dispatch radio communications was held.
Specialists of the IT departments got acquainted with advantages of digital radio communications, standards of equipment with radio communications in the context of reforming the operational-technological management system, as well as with the general architecture of Belgorodenergo’s radio communications using the modern software and hardware complex of the Grid Control Centre of the city of Belgorod and the Belgorodsky district.
Vladimir Nedosekov, the head of the corporate and technological automated control systems office, explained that in Belgorodenergo digital radio communication systems covered 17 out of 22 Distribution Zones. Five repeaters were installed last year. In the current five more Distribution Zones will be transferred from analog to digital systems, and a centralized radio communication network management system has been created in the branch. Thus, by the end of the year, the use of digital communication systems will be brought up to 100%.
The meeting participants discussed the possibility of a phased transition from analogue radio communication to digital and the benefits of newly implemented equipment. It was noted that without the replacement of analog radio communications with digital, a structural reform of the dispatch control is not possible.
