The first Safety Day this year was held at Kurskenergo’s production units

The first in 2020 Safety Day was held in subdivisions and Distribution Zones of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kurskenergo”.

The commission, consisting of heads of specialized services of the branch and specialists of the technical unit, summed up the results of measures to eliminate the shortcomings identified during the previous Safety Day. It checked the recording of the targeted briefing to members of crews during the work clearance and provision of personnel with protective equipment, uniform, and necessary materials for safe operation. In addition, the commission checked the knowledge of production personnel about the features of equipment operation during the heating season. An additional briefing on the operating conditions of vehicles in adverse weather conditions was conducted with drivers, and the technical condition of the vehicles was checked.

During the practical part, employees of the services sales and development subdivision worked out the issues of safe operation of electricity metering devices. The production staff of the branch underwent training under the program “Procedure for work in operating electrical installations”, during which the company’s specialists learned in depth the responsibilities of the employees responsible for organizing and safely performing work, and also paid attention to the mandatory use by workers of individual voltage detectors when working in distribution grids of 6-20 kV.

“Safety days are an important component of the work to preserve the life and health of the company’s employees in the course of their labour activity,” stresses Dmitry Gorbachev, the deputy chief engineer, - the head of the industrial safety and production control department at Kurskenergo. “Such events at the branch are held monthly to prevent industrial injuries and increase the culture of production at power facilities.”
