15.01.2020

The branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” summed up the results of work on prevention of children’s electrical injuries for 2019.

One of its most important components is electrical safety lessons. In 2019, Kostromaenergo’s specialists conducted over 700 such classes in more than one hundred educational institutions of the Kostroma region. Their participants were about 10 thousand children and adolescents.

The power engineers told the schoolchildren about the basic rules of electrical safety and the importance of warning signs installed on electrical equipment, demonstrated first-aid methods for victims of electric current. The children found out what kind of threat posed by faulty electrical appliances and bare wires, why you can’t climb poles of power lines, go into premises of substations, get close to dangling wires. Themed videos, as well as contests and quizzes helped consolidate the knowledge gained. At the end of the lessons, the participants were presented with specialized thematic brochures and posters. In addition to the lessons, excursions to Kostromaenergo’s power facilities were organized for senior pupils and students of technical schools, during which the young people were introduced to the rules of behaviour near electrical installations.

Active preventive work was carried out in school and country camps in the region. Since the beginning of the year, the power engineers together with staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Kostroma region, the All-Russian Volunteer Fire Society, the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels of the Kostroma region, the Federal National Guard Troops Service under the “Safe Holiday” campaign and the “Territory of Childhood” city program held 16 thematic route games. About two thousand children took part in them.
