23.12.2019

A solemn meeting was held at the branch “Rosseti Centre Tverenergo”, dedicated to the celebration of the Power Engineers’ Day. This year, the holiday for the branch became special - to receive awards on the stage, together with Tverenergo’s employees, colleagues of the Tver power engineers from other branches of the Rosseti company rose.

It is symbolic that it was on the night before the festive event that the power supply to the residents of the Tver region was completely restored, disrupted by a powerful hurricane that passed through the northwestern regions of our country, including the territories of the Upper Volga Region. Please, be reminded that at the end of October and in December of this year, two natural disasters of equal forces hit the Tver region. An abnormal hurricane wind, which exceeded the force of 25 m/s, lashed and torn wires, uprooted and felled large trees on power lines, under the weight of which poles broke. Without light were tens of thousands of residents of the region. By decision of Director General of PJSC Rosseti Pavel Livinskiy, taking into account the assessment of the extent of the disaster, in order to work more efficiently and accelerate minimizing the effects of bad weather on the territory of the region, an enhanced grouping of forces and means consisting of employees seconded from subsidiary branches of the company was redeployed.

The progress of emergency repairs was headed by Andrey Mayorov, Deputy Director General - Chief Engineer of Rosseti’s Group of Companies. Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region, First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of the Company, Alexander Pilyugin, took part in the emergency and restoration activities in the region.

In total, more than 215 crews of power engineers were involved in the restoration of power supply. Working around the clock for several days, despite the strong wind, snow and rain, the crews of the energy company were able to return the light to houses of the residents of the Tver region as soon as possible for such situations.

It was these people who, on their professional holiday, received well-deserved awards from the hands of Andrey Mayorov, the head of Rosseti’s technical unit.

“Today, in the capital of the Upper Volga Region, not only Tver power engineers gathered, but also the power engineers of almost all the branches of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region. For the Tver region this year was not easy, but at the same time it is saturated and memorable. In the final decade of the year, the branch accepted the difficult challenge of the disruptive electricity supply in the region, and fulfilled its tasks with dignity. In extreme conditions, having teamed up with thousands of professionals from Rosseti, the power engineers showed endurance, high responsibility, discipline, courage in overcoming the difficulties and returned light to the homes of residents of the Upper Volga Region. This once again proved the ability of the largest electric grid company at the right time to mobilize all its forces and resources and, acting in conjunction, to be a single team. At the same time, we do not rest on our laurels and continue to work to improve the quality and reliability of power supply to consumers. We have been and remain a single, united team, which has yet to realize many grandiose projects and bring great benefits to the Tver region,” emphasized Andrey Mayorov, opening the solemn meeting.

Alexander Pilyugin, First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of Rosseti Centre, also congratulated all those present on their professional holiday, noting: “Energy is a special industry that today must meet the spirit of the time, become smart and flexible. We must preserve the professionalism of previous generations of power engineers and increase it by attracting qualified specialists to the work, high-class equipment. The year was eventful and difficult, but contrary to any circumstance, the power engineers proved their professionalism and durability, showed endurance and hardening. I also thank all the power engineers of the Rosseti company, who arrived today from different parts of the country, for your cohesion, synchronized actions, dedication and love for the profession.”

In total, more than 100 employees of the company were presented for the award.
