Kostromaenergo’s specialists held an “Electrical Safety Week” in cultural institutions of the region during the school holidays

13.11.2019

As part of the campaign, supported by the Department of Culture of the Kostroma Region and the regional House of Folk Arts, power engineers of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” organized a demonstration of a series of cartoons for prevention of children’s electrical injuries. The event was held as part of the comprehensive program of Rosseti Centre for prevention of electrical safety among children and adolescents.

During the week, animated films called “Fixiki” were shown in cinemas before children’s sessions, as well as in cultural centres, houses of culture and libraries. In total, 30 movie show points were organized in 15 municipalities of the region. Young viewers found out what kind of threat is posed by faulty electrical appliances and bare wires, why it is impossible to climb poles of power lines, enter the territory of substations, approach dangling wires, and how to behave in everyday life when using electrical appliances. In total, more than 600 girls and boys aged 6 to 12 years watched the “Fixiki” campaign.

For many years, the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” has been carrying out systematic work on the prevention of children’s electrical injuries. Power engineers organize a range of events for children and adolescents, social events, contests, quizzes and lessons. This school year alone, such events were held for 6,000 children in dozens of educational institutions and cultural centres.
