Specialists of the branch “Rosseti Centre Voronezhenergo” conducted an excursion to energy facilities of the enterprise for students of Voronezh State Agricultural University named after Emperor Peter the Great (VSAU).

More than 40 students of the University’s Agro-Engineering Faculty familiarized themselves with the equipment of Voronezhenergo’s Grid Control Centre (GCC), the tasks and specifics of the work of dispatch personnel. After that, the students, accompanied by the company’s specialists, visited 110 kV substation No. 6, which provides reliable power supply to a number of industrial and residential consumers, as well as social facilities in the Left Bank district of the city of Voronezh. The future power engineers were told about the arrangement of the main equipment of the power facility and the principles of its operation.

It should be noted that the tour became one of the events within the educational program implemented by Rosseti Centre - the managing organization Rosseti Centre and Volga Region. An information course of lectures aimed at an in-depth study of the digital transformation of the electric grid complex, started at the end of October at universities in 20 regions where the companies are present, including Voronezh Agricultural University.

During the educational process, students of the Agro-Engineering Faculty of Voronezh State Agricultural University study topics directly related to the digitalization of the electric grid complex. Future power engineers will gain new knowledge in such areas as “Intelligent electricity metering”, “Digital Distribution Zone and distributed automation”, “Electric energy storage”, “Digital substation”, as well as “Unmanned aerial vehicles and their use in the electric grid complex” and “Internet of things”.

Lectures are given by heads of specialized departments of Voronezhenergo, who have extensive experience in introducing modern technologies as part of the implementation of the concept of digital transformation. Thanks to this, VSAU students had a unique opportunity to find out all the necessary information about the specifics of the use of digital technologies in the electric grid complex, to analyze in detail the main areas of digitalization and get an idea of modern developments used in the management of processes and digital data in the electric power industry.
