The branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo” organized the interregional energy forum “Prospects and Trends in the Development of the Fuel and Energy Complex in the Context of Digital Transformation”, held on 31 October in Kostroma. It was attended by students, university professors, representatives of state authorities and companies of the fuel and energy complex of the Kostroma region and neighbouring regions.
One of the main objectives of the forum was the organization of business interaction between educational institutions and employers in the training of qualified personnel for digital transformation, the conduct of scientific research and the practice of applying modern technologies in the energy sector, as well as the discussion of pressing issues of energy conservation, the popularization of engineering professions, and the development of new technologies in the energy sector and communication with colleagues from other energy companies. In addition, it became the final event in the framework of the All-Russian Festival of Energy Saving and Ecology #TogetherBrighter in the region.
The venue of the event was Kostroma State University, on the basis of which platforms for dialogue between industry corporations, government bodies, the educational and scientific community on digitalization were deployed.
Opening the forum, Dmitry Prokhorov, Deputy General Director - Director of the branch “Rosseti Centre Kostromaenergo”, introduced the participants to the digital transformation projects of Kostromaenergo. In particular, he talked about the work on creating the first digital substation in the Kostroma region in Nerekhta, the first Unified Grid Control Centre in the region, which will combine the functions of 27 district dispatch points, as well as the digital city dispatch point, which will allow real-time control of the entire electric grid complex of the city of Kostroma and the Kostroma region.
The central events of the forum were a meeting of representatives of fuel and energy companies on issues of prospective development in the context of digital transformation, the work of the sections “Digital Transformation Personnel” and “Work in the Energy Sector”. In addition, an exhibition of energy-efficient equipment was organized at the forum venue: diode lighting devices, motion sensors, digital meters, etc. At the exhibition, experts from participating companies shared their experience in implementing digital technologies and energy-saving practices, as well as talked about the implementation of energy-efficient equipment projects in the Kostroma region with the use of intelligent metering devices.
Summing up the forum, the rector of Kostroma State University Alexander Naumov noted the importance of holding an event of this format.
“For educational institutions, it is especially important to keep abreast in matters relating to the training of highly qualified personnel for the real sector of the economy. The vector for digitalization is common for government agencies, educational institutions, and infrastructure companies. I consider such forums to be an excellent occasion to discuss issues of interest to all of us regarding digital transformation, training new generation personnel, and improving the education system.”
