Kurskenergo’s specialists teach students of the Southwest State University the basics of digital transformation of the electric grid complex

On 29 October, an informational course of lectures on the topic “Digital Transformation of the Electric Grid Complex”, organized by Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region, started at Southwest State University (SWSU). As part of the training, Kurskenergo’s specialists introduce 3-4-year students of the Department of Power Supply at the Southwest State University with the main stages of implementing digital technologies in the electric grid complex.

In total, nine thematic lectures will be given by the power engineers: “Digital Transformation Program”, “Production Asset Management System”, “Digital Substation”, “Modern Communications and Technologies in Power Engineering”, and “Digital Distribution Zone. Distributed Automation”, “Smart Electricity Metering”, “Grid Control Centre (GCC)”, “Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)” and “Electric Energy Storage”.

“Our task today is to train highly qualified personnel for operation of modern equipment implemented as part of the digital transformation strategy in the electric power industry. Therefore, it is very important to familiarize students of relevant specialties with modern technologies for the development of the electric grid complex even at the stage of their training at the university,” stressed Vyacheslav Istomin, First Deputy Director - Chief Engineer of Kurskenergo.

The company’s educational project is aimed at creating a holistic picture of digital transformation of the electric grid complex among students of specialized educational institutions. As part of the project, leading experts of the company will give an informational course of lectures in 20 higher educational institutions in 20 regions of the country.
