29.10.2019

Employees of the branch “Rosseti Centre Smolenskenergo” held an electrical safety lesson for fifth graders at the Central Library named after N.S. Klestov-Angarsky in the city of Smolensk. During the event, the power engineers explained to children the rules of behaviour near power facilities, told why it is impossible to get close to dangling wires and try to get into the territory of transformer substations, and reminded of the rules for operating household electrical appliances. During the conversation, the branch’s specialists answered dozens of questions.

The “Gosha” simulator aroused great interest among the children, with the help of which the power engineers demonstrated the rules for providing first aid to victims of electric shock.

In addition, the children got acquainted with the profession of an energy engineer and helped to assemble an electrician for work - dress their classmate in a special suit of an energy engineer, provide him with the necessary protective equipment - a helmet, dielectric gloves and boots.

“We have been cooperating with the library management for the second year, we conduct not only thematic classes on electrical safety, energy conservation, digital transformation, but also career-oriented conversations for high school students. Among our learners there were pupils of different classes of the 29th school in the city of Smolensk and students of the Smolensk branch of the Russian Economic University named after G.V. Plekhanov. The purpose of our events is to disseminate the idea of an energy-saving lifestyle among the younger generation, repeat the rules of electrical safety, promote the energy profession,” commented Maria Romanova, the head of the public relations department.

Prevention of electrical injuries to third parties is one of the priority areas of Smolenskenergo. Work in this area has been carried out by power engineers for many years, with particular attention being paid to the education of the younger generation. The main task of the power engineers is to recall the dangers of electric current and the importance of observing rules of conduct near power facilities.
