Lipetsk power engineers told senior students about the organization of safe work

An Open Doors Day for schoolchildren was held at the branch “Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo”.

As part of the labour protection month, organized by the Department of Economic Development of the City Administration, Lipetskenergo’s specialists conducted an excursion for pupils from 72 schools. The guys found out how the Labour Protection Day is held at the branch, what briefings are required for electrical personnel, and why periodic and sudden checks of jobs are needed. And everyone could try on modern means of protecting an electrician on themselves.

The high school students also visited the grid control centre, where they got acquainted with the work of the electric grid complex of the Lipetsk region and learned all the subtleties of the dispatcher’s work.

The school-leavers learned about the history of the development of the energy system from the first hydroelectric power plants to modern power facilities in Lipetskenergo’s Museum of History. At the end of the tour, the guys were able to demonstrate their knowledge in the field of electric power and labour protection at large enterprises in a quiz. All labour protection experts received useful gifts.

“It was interesting to see not only how professionals work, but also how their safety and health are organized in the workplace. After all, the power engineering profession is associated with danger, and therefore, attention to labour protection should be special,” said Dmitry Lukyanov, a student of grade 11, who shared his impressions of the tour.
