Smolenskenergo pays attention to labour protection issues

22.10.2019

Over the past 9 months of 2019, the branch “Rosseti Centre Smolenskenergo” spent 11.6 million rubles on implementation of measures aimed at reducing risks of occupational injuries, fulfilling the requirements of regulatory legal acts on labour protection and improving the sanitary conditions of personnel. This made it possible to adequately provide personnel with modern protective equipment, tools and devices for safe work.

One of the important areas of work in the field of labour protection is the implementation of measures to prevent accidents and occupational diseases, and to improve the working conditions of personnel. For 9 months of 2019, at 555 workplaces in the branch, a special assessment of working conditions was carried out in accordance with applicable law. Constantly work is underway to provide personnel with modern protective equipment.

An important area in the field of labour protection is the training of employees in safe working methods, and increasing knowledge in the field of labour protection. Over the past period, 379 employees were trained in labour protection. According to the schedule, 167 heads of departments and specialists of the branch passed the knowledge test in the central commission of the branch, and more than 1,500 employees in commissions of subdivisions. The staff was tested on the knowledge of labour protection rules during operation of electrical installations, technical operation rules and fire safety rules in the power grid complex of PJSC Rosseti, and skills were developed for providing first aid to victims of accidents. An extraordinary check of the knowledge of the entire staff of the branch was also carried out in connection with the enactment of the “Rules for the Protection of Labour on Road Transport” and the “Rules for the Organization of Maintenance and Repair of Electric Power Facilities”.

“The daily work of power engineers is associated with a high risk to health, because in any weather they should be ready to provide reliable power supply for residents of the region. That is why the branch’s management pays great attention to the prevention of diseases and maintaining the health of employees,” commented Sergey Mikhailov, the head of the labour protection service of Smolenskenergo.

Smolenskenergo not only cares about the safety of its own employees, but also works to reduce the risk of injuries to third parties at Smolenskenergo’s facilities. In accordance with the program for reducing the risks of injuries to third parties, a set of measures is being taken to bring the technical condition of electrical installations in line with the requirements for safe operation. To inform the public, all power facilities of the branch have signs and posters warning of the danger of electric shock.
